RFX1
b. 1988, Los Angeles, CA. Lives and works in Los Angeles.
RFX1 is a Los Angeles based Korean-American artist whose bright and colorful retro-futuristic paintings playfully explore themes of society and technology. His works imagine alternate futures, be it one in which space travel is enabled by a universal language made of esoteric symbols or one wherein dragons and tigers roam across a neon-hued fantasyscape inspired by traditional Korean art. RFX1 also works as a muralist, and often incorporates the stylistic sensibilities and techniques of street art to his paintings.
RFX1 lives and works in Los Angeles. His public art works include a large-scale mural at Young Oak Kim Academy in Los Angeles which was jointly commissioned by the Los Angeles Unified School District and the Consulate General of Korea; a mural and sidewalk art at Willie White park in Pomona; and the mural at the Onegeneration Senior Enrichment Center at Reseda Park in Reseda. RFX1 has also participated in numerous gallery exhibitions throughout the United States. He is currently working on a collaboration for a installation at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles for 2024 Pacific Standard Time
